Surakshit Kaal: Building a Culture of Road Safety Among Youth
A seminar on road safety organized by IQAC Pranab College in collaboration with Dimapur Traffic Police to educate students on safe driving and traffic awareness.
The IQAC Pranab College in collaboration with Dimapur Traffic Police, Dimapur District organized a seminar on "Building a Culture of Road Safety Among Youth" on the 3rd July, 2026 at the College Auditorium, Pranab College, Dimapur.
With an aim to educate the students on road safety, and the dangers of rash driving which has become a common sight in Dimapur District, the seminar focused on topics like Traffic Signal, Motor Vehicle Act, and common causes of road accidents.
Resource Persons
Resource person, Mr. Zubenthung Ezung, ACP Traffic Dimapur, gave an informative talk on the common causes of road accidents and the importance of safe driving. He also emphasized on road etiquettes when it comes to emergency vehicles like ambulance, fire trucks, security and police vehicles.
Mr. Bokato, SI and Mr. Y. Lipenthung Patton, SI, Traffic Control Dimapur, highlighted on traffic signals and Motor Vehicle Act 1988 (Offenses & Penalties).
Programme Details
The programme was chaired by Mrs. Ulla Laureen Fernandez, Asst. Professor, Department of Education. Welcome address & introduction of the Resource Persons was delivered by Dr. Sanjukta Bhattacharjee, Asst. Prof., Dept. of English and IQAC Coordinator. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Alomi Cynthia Shikhu, Asst. Prof, Dept of Sociology and Co-Coordinator, IQAC.
