The Department of Education of Pranab College is a beehive of academic activities from its inception in 1991. The Department offers B.A-EDN both for Major and Minor course. The curriculum is based on the NEP system as prescribed by Nagaland University. The members of the faculty keep in constant touch with the latest developments in the field of education as visualized by various Education Commissions and National Polices on Education, in order to face with confidence the challenges of education in the dynamic technological world and became a global centre of excellence. The course offers a rich variety of subjects taught by a wide range of teachers. It gives a student new skills and knowledge to develop and enhance his/her career. Different types of skills related to job can be nurtured within the students through learning by doing, field engagement and presentation activities. Skills of counselling are also developed through this program.

Aims and Objectives of Education Department:

1. The main aims and objectives of the department is to makes students interested for higher studies. Moreover the department has been trying its best to attract the students to the occupation in teaching line and to be a skill teacher.
2. To gather knowledge about the concept, aims and principles of education.
3. To develop sensitive and competent citizens who can contribute equally to the development of the nation.
4. To develop the prospective citizen's ability to deal with the challenges.
5. To develop creativity and spirituality among the students.
6. To give students the exposure to different internship programmes.
