An awareness programme organised by the Department of Sociology, Pranab College, on the theme 'The World Drug Problem: Issues, New Challenges, Innovative Responses.'
The Department of Sociology, Pranab College, organised the observation of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2026 on the 25th June, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
The theme for this year's observation was "The World Drug Problem: Issues, New Challenges, Innovative Responses."
Program Details
The event was chaired by Methunlung Newmei (BA 5th Semester, Sociology).
The order of the program was as follows:
- Welcome Address: Delivered by Dr. Santosh Kumar, Principal, Pranab College.
- Keynote Address: Delivered by Mr. T. Meren Jamir, Counselor, Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA), Prodigals' Home.
- Recovery Testimony: Shared by Mr. Phushai Konyak.
- Anti-Drug Pledge by Students and Faculty: Led by Mr. Tongpok, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology.
- Vote of Thanks: Delivered by Ms. Olivia Kikon, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology.
