To create Awareness on Cyber Threats
A Cyber Security Awareness Programme was organised by the Cyber Cell, Pranab College, at Pranab College at 11:30 a.m. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about various cyber threats and safe practices for using digital platforms.
The programme was chaired by Jahir Uddin, B.Com 5th Semester. The welcome address was delivered by Rupam Dasgupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, who welcomed the resource person and participants and highlighted the importance of cyber awareness in today’s digital age.
The resource person for the programme was Alemjungshi Imchen, Director, IISC. During the session, he discussed several important topics related to cyber security and online safety. Special attention was given to OTP-related frauds, including the importance of never sharing OTPs with unknown persons. He also discussed WhatsApp-related scams and security concerns, advising participants to remain cautious while using messaging applications. Another important topic covered was online product-order scams, where people may be deceived through fake websites, offers, or fraudulent sellers.
The programme was informative and useful, providing participants with practical knowledge about recognising cyber threats and protecting themselves from online fraud.
